Project Manager

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a self-motivated individual for the position of Project Manager. The successful candidate will work directly with various groups to ensure successful projects from a technical, contractual, schedule and budget driven perspective.

Internally, the PM will coordinate with our sales and engineering team to insure designs meet both internal and external expectations.

Externally, the PM coordinates directly with our clients, vendors, fabricators, and contractors to insure the project meets technical expectations and adheres to the schedule and budget. We are looking for a dedicated and highly organized individual with excellent written and communication skills. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem solving skills with respect to typical project management issues. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Review client specifications and contract to insure internal and externals adherence to all requirements
  • Work directly with client to address project related issues including scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and technical details
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that will be shared with clients and contractors, as well as other internal staff members
  • Track project progress and work with all parties to meet long term and short term project goals
  • Track project budget, invoicing and reporting with all related parties to meet internal financial requirements
  • Work with engineering to insure drawings are developed on time for fabricators to meet project schedule
  • Work with engineering to develop technical specifications related to project for the purpose of client submittals and equipment purchasing
  • Work with purchasing to pursue vendors and negotiate contracts for equipment being supplied to and erected on client’s project site
  • Work with QA/QC coordinating shop inspections to insure quality and schedule is maintained throughout the project
  • Work with construction management (internal and external) to coordinate on site activities
  • Must have the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and verbal instructions.
  • Must be thorough, meticulous, well organized, and able to communicate and work well with all levels of supervisors and subordinates.
  • Makes project related decisions independently, but also recognizes when to seek assistance and/or approval

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of experience managing large industrial projects
  • Preferred, but not required: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or chemical engineering (or other related degree)
  • Preferred, but not required: PMP certification, Professional Engineering license, or other related advanced credential, experience will be counted
  • Proficiency with the following software programs:
    • Excel
    • MS Word

Air Pollution Control (APC) Application Engineer

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for application design for pollution control machinery sold to the wood products manufacturing industry, bio fuels energy industry and wood panel processing industry. Extensive application experience specifically with wet electrostatic precipitators (wet ESP) and/or regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTO) is a must. Responsibilities include: RFQ specification review, sizing systems utilizing in house software and based on customer specifications, creating budgets and detailed technical and commercial proposals for such systems. After project award responsibilities will include contract review, as well as technical support for the production group (project engineering and project management).

Must demonstrate extensive knowledge in general manufacturing technology, thermodynamics, metallurgy, heat and mass balance calculations and general machine design as well as all other principals common to Mechanical and or Chemical engineering. Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles to practical real life situations. Mentors less experienced team members. Possesses a working knowledge of the wood products, bio energy, combustion, and thermal processing industries.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to review detailed customer specification documents and identify both commercial and technical areas of concern.
  • Ability to work with application sizing spreadsheet and appropriately select size of equipment to meet customer specifications.
  • Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles to real life situations and be able to identify risk based analysis of selected equipment.
  • Be able to create technical specifications for the use in obtaining budgetary quotes, communicating to sub-suppliers, customer and team members.
  • Must have the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, contracts and verbal instructions.
  • Must be thorough, meticulous, well organized and able to communicate and work well with all levels of supervisors and subordinates.
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods, but know when to seek approval.
  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.
  • Participate in concept development TSI products including new designs and value added engineering excersizes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree from an ABET accredited curriculum, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineering License, experience will be counted.
  • Must have a minimum 5-10 years of experience working with pollution control systems. This would include, technical project management, field engineering, or project engineering. Hand-on field experience solving process related issues is a plus.
  • Familiarity and experience with the wood products industry, biomass drying industry, and Bio based energy industries.
  • Experience as plant engineer in the industries or similar industries listed above.

Senior Project Engineer

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Produce and fully document technical specifications and standards as required to process machine and system design adequately instructing manufacturing shops, subcontractors, installers, and all engineering customers. Demonstrates proven knowledge in manufacturing technology, statics, dynamics, strength of materials, thermodynamics, metallurgy, machine design and all other principals common to Mechanical engineering. Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Mentors less experienced engineers and designers. Possesses a working knowledge of the wood products, energy, combustion and thermal processing industries.

  • Should be capable of taking specific machinery and systems from concept to initial assembly.
  • Applies extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
  • Must have complete understanding of and ability to create and fully specify manufacturing drawings for fabricated, machined and assembled parts.
  • Be able to create technical specifications for the use in obtaining quotes, communicating to sub-suppliers, customer and team members.

  • Must have a minimum 5 years experience with AutoCAD, Inventor or able to use either effectively.
  • Familiarity and experience with wood products industry, drying, OSB, Bio based energy industries are a plus.
  • Experience as plant engineer in any similar industries or operations in any plant environment, shop or similar company a plus.
